The CIEE Global Internship Conference (GIC) brings together leaders in higher education, industry, and government to advance global work-integrated learning. It’s where knowledge is shared, ideas are sparked, and connections are made to support student success, public diplomacy, and economic growth. Join thought leaders and practitioners to explore the skills graduates need to launch careers, the employers attracting today’s interns, and the placements that empower students to thrive, give back to their communities, and address the challenges of our time.
Hailed as Europe’s Silicon Valley, Estonia is rapidly emerging as a global leader in redefining what internships can and should be. With its advanced digital infrastructure, AI-powered education systems, and forward-thinking public services, Estonia offers a bold new model for integrating technology, learning, and social impact.
Set in Tallinn – a living laboratory for innovation – this conference brings together educators, industry leaders, and policymakers to explore how immersive, digitally driven internships can equip students to lead in a world increasingly shaped by emerging technologies. Participants will collaborate to establish the Global Internship Index, a new benchmark for identifying the world’s best locations, employers, and experiential learning models.
Building on a legacy of public diplomacy and economic development between the U.S. and Baltic nations, this event will also deepen regional and international cooperation across sectors. Together, we’ll define what high-quality, future-ready internships look like and how to scale them globally.

We are grateful that the City of Tallinn offered free public transportation for all attendees during the CIEE Global Internship Conference.
